Technician- Starting Salary- £21000, will increase with experience

Primary purpose of role

  • As a Workshop Technician at our prestigious BMW site, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing vehicles, ensuring all repairs are carried out within timescales and to a high standard. You will also be responsible for identifying any parts which require replacement, checking vehicles for outstanding recalls. You will be working on the latest models for this prestigious brand.

Key Accountabilities

  • Rectifying vehicle faults as indicated on each job card in accordance with manufacturers guidelines
  • Renewing defective components
  • Documenting any processes thoroughly on the job card
  • Ensuring all warranty procedures are adhered to whilst undertaking repairs
  • Maintenance and upkeep of all workshop tools and equipment
  • Technical support with other contracts which may be required from time to time

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent- desirable                                                

Skills/Experiences

The ideal candidate for the Workshop Technician position will have a minimum of 2 years’ previous experience in a similar role. The ability to understand and complete complex repairs is essential.

  • 2+ years’ previous experience in BMW or main dealer in automotive industry repair methods- desirable
  • 2+ years’ previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to understand and complete complex repairs
  • Ability to work as part of a team, under pressure and hit targets
  • Good education in core GCSE subjects
  • Full clean driving licence
