Analytics Team Lead - Strategic Logistics Consulting (F/M)

Accountabilities
Key Activities - External

Business development:
Build client networks by attending customer meetings (jointly with DHL internal stakeholders), conferences and other networking events
Drive development of proposals and acquisition of SLC projects
Pursue customer interest for SLC projects

Project execution:
Lead project scoping discussions
Give input and ensure proper planning and monitoring of the project budget
Lead supply chain mapping workshops
Guide Analyst in the management of data requests
Build hypothesis on customer’s pain points and related improvement levers
Provide expert inputs and guidance to project team members working on project deliverables
(Support in) developing and delivering presentation of project analyses & recommendations to the client team
Ensure proper hand-over of project deliverables to client team as part of project closure


Key Activies - Internal

Capability building:
· Obtain, develop and share knowledge on the industry, market and solutions obtained through projects and on-going monitoring of industry & market developments
·Monitor, assess and recommend industry-leading tools to be used for supply chain analyses in SLC projects
·Suggest and ensure implementation of measures to improve the working environment (e.g. tools, templates, methodologies, etc.) of the Analysts
·Build networks with other relevant departments/team (e.g. solution design) within DHL for periodic knowledge and pipeline sharing
·Develop topic expertise/competence centre for supply chain optimization capabilities (e.g. network optimization) for SLC practice globally
·Propose, find providers and execute trainings to enhance analytics team capabilities

Team management:
·Support the recruitment, development and training of Analysts
·Provide expert inputs/guidance to Analysts in support of their daily project work
·Propose allocation and guide Analysts in their internal-to-do for SLC practice group
·Ensure on-going tracking of Analysts’ time allocation to SLC projects and internal-to-do
·Provide inputs to the staffing of Analysts to SLC projects and internal-to-do
·Monitor Analytics team workload and escalate if required to SLC practice group head
·Provide input, observations for Analyst’s internal to-do performance assessment to SLC practice group head

People - Management
·Clear, open and broad communication with team members, team-building
·Downward feedback to Analysts, upward feedback to Project Partner, peer feedback to Assignment Managers / Senior Consultants
·Coaching of Analysts in supply chain optimization methodologies and application of tools

Key capabilities

Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities, ability to manage different priorities and projects in parallel, experience in managing junior team members and collaborating with (senior) colleagues across the offices and DHL-internal stakeholders, experience in working on supply chain consulting projects

Expected years of experience
- Minimum 5 yrs

Expected Educational Qualifications

Education:

University education with above-average degree or completed at above-average speed
Area of studies not relevant

Work experience:

Min. 2 years experience in supply chain consulting or an internal advisory role in supply chain
Min. 2 years experience in managing cross-cultural teams
Experience in building customer relationship management and business development
Experience in managing projects with medium to complex themes
International experience

Additional knowledge :

Knowledge of the standard supply chain optimization methods and tools (e.g. network optimization/planning, supply chain mapping, total cost analysis) is preferred
Very good business management knowledge
English fluent written/spoken
Command of any Asian language is preferred

Other

High mobility to deal with global project situations; expected and willing to travel ~50% of time
