We have an exciting opportunity for students to earn a degree whilst developing their professional skills within a global market leading organisation. The program is suitable for students who are interested in entering management positions and want to build their capability to successfully manage people, projects, operations and/or services.
Students will learn the technical knowledge, gain real experience and wider skills through a range of structured placements across a variety of DHL customer contracts and locations within the UK. This is a unique opportunity for students to gain a business degree within an apprenticeship whilst earning in the workplace.
In this role you will be working within the Network Logistics & Transport IT Solutions function, responsible for supporting Transport Management System (TMS) testing in support of change to strategic transport systems templates.
Key Responsibilities in this role will include:
Working with the Test & Deployment manager across all aspects of the solution testing to enable effective change to the templates.
Liaising with the Wider Transport Solutions team to ensure understanding of scope fo change.
Testing effort and efficient execution to ensure the solutions delivered meet operational & customer demands.
Input to support ensuring Testing activity is evolving to be as efficient and effective as possible with uptake of automated testing where possible.
Key skills and experience in this role will include:(Standard University entry criteria applies)
260 UCAS points (104+ UCAS points from September 2017 under the new UCAS tariff system) grade C GCSE English and Mathematics or;
Completion of a Level 3 Apprenticeship/professional qualification in a relevant discipline or;
Recognised and equivalent qualification
Passion and motivation to start and develop an IT career within the Supply Chain & Logistics industry in the UK market post-academia
Flexible in approach to working styles, shifts and roles
Eligibility to work in the UK for the full duration of the apprenticeship
Confident communicator – able to tailor communication style according to the audience
Enthusiastic and open-minded in getting the most out of the apprenticeship
Sensitive to diverse working teams and environments
During the 4 year apprenticeship, you will work towards achieving a Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Level qualification. In your first three years, you will experience a range of structured IT placements across our warehouse, transport and functional operations giving you the opportunity to gain real life experience! In your final year, you will specialise in your preferred area, whilst completing your end point assessment.
You will be allocated a Mentor and a Learner Manager from The Apprenticeship Training Provider who will be a subject matter expert in the field of the Apprenticeship you will be under taking.
