Procurement Manager, Americas - Transportation

DPDHL is hiring a Procurement Manager for the Transportation Category.This position is in Plantation, FL and will support sourcing strategy and execution for transportation initiatives and negotiations, and is responsible for negotiation, drafting and management of sourcing initiatives for the stated transportation strategy.

Position will support thought leadership across the Enterprise, working with regional business and transportation managers in identifying, evaluating, coordinating, implementing, and measuring/monitoring new and ongoing ideas/initiatives, continuous process improvement activities, carrier relationship management, and specific focus on cost reduction opportunities.


·Support the strategy for the Transportation Americas category.

·Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of relevant carrier modes (Ground, Air, Ocean).

·Implement regional sourcing strategies, utilizing state of the art sourcing practices and anticipate market evolutions.

·Manage regional sourcing initiatives (from demand analysis to contract implementation) incl. preparation and leading of carrier negotiations.

·Ad-hoc support of global sourcing initiatives and projects (from demand analysis to contract implementation).

·Support country sourcing initiatives and projects (from demand analysis to contract implementation). Establish and manage good working relationships with business partners on a country, regional and global levels.

·Support corporate standardization, providing on-going support to country and corporate stakeholders (implementation of Bravo, SciQuest, ePurchasing, reporting via Procurement Data Warehouse, etc.).

·Internal reporting and monitoring of benefits and compliance figures.Develop cluster/category specific expertise, knowledge and trainings for the virtual category team.

·Project management and performance improvement methodologies (First Choice Initiatives / PIWs), follow-up on Employee Opinion Survey and Business Partner Satisfaction Survey.Support for sourcing initiatives of other regions and cross-regional knowledge sharing


·BS/BA + minimum 2 years procurement experience, including knowledge of ground transportation environment.

·Proven ability to work with English, Spanish and/or Portuguese speaking business partners and suppliers.

·Demonstrated ability to work in a fast moving, cross border environment.

·Demonstrated experience dealing with complex, high dollar service agreements.

·Knowledge of sourcing methods, procurement tools.

·Highly effective interpersonal and technical skills, including presenting, advising and consulting executive management.

·Strong business acumen and communication skills.
