The Data Protection & Security Manager ensures employee communication is in place and understood as it relates to Data Privacy laws and rights. Liaise with HR to formalize trainings around Data Protection and ensure they are completed (i.e. Data Protection debrief for couriers in states interacting with customers, Data Protection debrief and training with sales team interacting with customers based in states with Data Protection laws). Perform country readiness assessments. Ensure Country MD and DPO framework exists and key compliance topics are covered. Ensure risk framework is in place to identify potential impact based on customer request or inquiries and understand how to channel properly to the respective team that will need to action any type of communication. Make sure the business is engaged from a process compliance perspective to minimize risks (GSOP reviewed to identify highest risks, and Improvements to EGAP platform and GSOP processes to minimize risks. Drive and execute local application assessment based on Data Protection and Privacy Impact Assessments. Provide oversight and guidance around privacy considerations for new applications or changes to existing applications through project requests. Ensure local needs are considered within EGAP applications as part of global PIA efforts. Drive agenda around GRC and IT Security for the US (ensure compliance and documentation for CRISP process, and ITGC). Respond to IT audit inquiries and coordinate with cross functional teams around required documentation


  • Process Definition, Documentation and Updates

  • Chair periodic meetings with Data Protection Council to successfully maintain compliance

  • Triage and route inquiries properly and timely to ensure resolution and positive outcome

  • Assist in preparing function specific training in regards to Data Protection so customer facing employees understand customer rights

  • Preparation and drive delivery of customer communications around Data Protection as well as definition of response templates

  • Ensure IT General Controls Framework is in place to maintain compliance and security standards across services

  • Drive IT Security Awareness agenda within the US through preparation and delivery of content on a monthly basis

Skill & Qualifications:

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and 8-11 years experience in related field or MS/MA and generally 5-7 years. Seasoned professional.

  • Concerned with problems that have a direct and important effect on business programs and results.

  • Serves as consultant to management on major matters pertaining to policies, plans, and objectives.

  • State-of-the-art knowledge of technologies, processes, and practices. experience in related field.

  • Professional certification required in some areas (preferred in any of the following CISSP, CISA, MTA or Cybersecurity certificate from accredited institution)

Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Requires manual dexterity and visual and hearing acuity. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Tasks are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.
