Ocean Freight Product Capacity Manager

Overall job purpose:

Manages and drives performance of PCM Specialists.  Manages allocated capacity and monitors carrier invoicing.  Ensures adherence to global decisions (rates, process, etc.).  This position is also responsible for managing a team of Ocean Freight Gateway specialists by ensuring maximization of the consolidation benefits by effectively analyzing and managing cargo.

Main tasks & key responsibilities

  • Coordinates forecast, local procurement and optimization/ consolidation in line with carrier strategy and RRM
  • Defines and sets up local internal rates in system
  • Monitors carrier performance and initiates corrective actions on local level
  • Contributes to implementation of BD opportunities within country
  • Ensures local procurement (end-to-end incl. inland logistics and depot as well as demurrage management)
  • Plans route and allocates capacity (identifies options, allocates shipment against available capacity)
  • Provides supplier schedules
  • Adheres to global procurement processes in case of local procured rates
  • Monitors KPIs used to ensure constant improvement of Capacity Management
  • Performs market and customer analysis to forecast demand/supply at country level (collects data, prepares, validates and analyzes data accuracy)
  • Monitors carrier performance in line with SLA and balanced score cards
  • Ensures internal local rates input and update into the rate management system (which will be used by the OCC
  • Sets, communicates and monitors indicators of consolidation efficiency
