DHL is looking to add a Systems Support Specialist to their team in Mechanicsburg, PA.  This individual must possess advanced knowledge of managing server devices, to include virtual and physical. The qualified candidate should be able to troubleshoot calmly in a high-stress situation, be proactive in planning for next phases of support, and be self-motivated to keep current on emerging technology trends. 

Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing second level technical support in a global capacity for UNIX and LINUX systems, primarily RedHat Enterprise LINUX. You will also provide on call support in a Follow-the-Sun approach for after-hours and weekend escalation and projects, interface with SAN Engineers, DBAs, and application support teams in troubleshooting situations. Additional qualifications and responsibilities include:

·Understand and use essential tools such as input/output redirection, grep, creating links, setting file permissions.  

·Operate running systems and understanding boot order, grub configuration, identifying system resources (cpu, memory, disk usage), stopping/starting/restarting services.  

·Configure local  and network attached storage using standard RHEL partitioning and industry standard software for network attached storage  

·Create and configure file systems  

·Working understanding of patching methodologies and ability to produce output for current kernel versions and list of installed filesets  

·Manage users and groups in local OS 

·Manage security as part of ISO27001 standards  

·Basic shell scripting knowledge in BASH, PERL or any other command-line based scripting language.  

Qualifcations:

·2-year degree in Computer Systems or related studies OR 2 years of hands on experience supporting a production RedHat Enterprise LINUX vs 6 and 7  

·Ability to work independently as well as part of a global and diverse team.  

·Commitment to working towards industry standard certification
