Key Tasks, Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Key Tasks:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships within the customers business to ensure all targets are met.
  • Ensure that DHL demonstrates innovation and generates opportunities to reduce the cost base with no adverse affect on service.
  • To ensure through the team that all aspects of the business operate within defined corporate and legislative requirements.
  • Develop effective plans to for business improvement activities and development of customer account.
  • Domestic Carrier management and performance review.
  • Validate and drive change IT system change to support continuous improvement and standardization.
  • Manage HSE and Maintain the Customer's  HSE Policy with Carriers.
  • Driver and support value creation.
  • Managing and increasing the capabilites of the control tower team, through sucession planning, development, coaching and training.

Key Accountabilities

  •  Support the delivery of EAC and EBIT growth for a new account.
  • Support achievement of contractual cost down targets.
  • Ensure effective communication mechanisms exist within team and with all stakeholders.
  • Analyse the effectiveness of the strategic plan against tactical operational deployment and cost implications.
  • Increase DHL revenues by utilising DHL services where appropriate.

Responsibilities

Customer:

  • Control of all Planning matters within parameters of customer locations.
  • Achievement of operational performance as defined by customer contract and KPIs.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement in routing and scheduling activities to ensure cost down targets are met.
  • Actively manage and provide the latest innovation design to drive business optimisation .

Stakeholder​​:

  • Work closely with the Head of LLP and Carrier Manager to ensure that all necessary changes are implemented effectively.
  • Build trusted relationships with service providers to drive supply chain success.

Process:

  • To ensure profitability and growth for the Contract.
  • To ensure through the team that all aspects of the business operate within defined corporate and legislative requirements.
  • To comply with best practice and highest standards and ensure these standards are consistently achieved, reviewed and improved.
  • To foster a culture of continuous improvement and “best in class” cost control.
  • Bring innovation and challenge to current network, being able to lead and shape agenda

People - Management:

  • Develop a culture of respect and trust, delivering high performance within the team.
  • To deliver team development and succession planning for contract.
  • To lead and motivate the team to achieve EOS targets.

Requirements for the Job ​ ​

Divisional Experience:

  • Experience in LLP operations in Supply Chain division and multi modal transport operations (Road, Air & Sea)
  • Programme Management

Functional Experience:

  • At least 5 years Supervisory or Management experience in domestic transport and or a logistics environment experience
  • Customer relationship management skills
  • Demonstrable record of service improvement through innovation


 Geographical Experience:

•  International freight experience desirable

Education / Qualification / Certification

•  Educated to Degree level

Language Requirements 

  • English - Fluent
  • Other European Languages desirable  Desirable
