As a Warehouse Operations Controller you will be responsible for ensuring that you plan, co- ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of a team of Warehouse Colleagues. To do this through the demonstration of positive role modelling behaviours and excellent conduct and clear communications. To drive and develop individuals to create a successful team. To provide effective leadership, both team and individual motivation, and ensure all colleagues have the necessary training to carry out their role and development plans to work to throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities in this role will include;
Manage staffing levels to meet volumes and productivity KPIs per employee in all areas to include task assignments
Driving customer value by driving process improvement and continuous improvement across all elements of the business
Direct the daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for Warehouse Colleagues
Facilitate effective communication
Ensure company policies are communicated, applied and enforced
Review continuously and ensure compliance to SOPs, SSOW, RA's
Deliver team performance dialogues, problem solving and prioritisation of tasks for efficiency improvements
Focus on improving productivity levels using idea manager, CAPA and PD boards
Specific function responsibilities (e.g. Goods In, Despatch, Picking, Recycling, POS)
Lead, motivate and supervise colleagues to ensure that all targets are meet daily and consistently in accordance to performance standards aligned to current DHL Supply Chain standards
To have budget responsibility for specific areas within the functional responsibility
To be responsible for CI projects for your shift within a specific functional area, i.e. Loading, POS etc.
Work in collaboration with other DSC sites through CST to maximise efficiencies and best practise
Manage all disciplinary and grievances in line with HR Policy and the Transformation model
Recruitment and Section of colleagues in all areas
Team Management of individuals for performance and development as required
Key skills and experience in this role will include:
3 years plus Supervisory experience in Warehouse and Logistics
2 years in a Management level role with similar levels of people responsibility with in warehouse logistics
UK Requirement only
High school / secondary education
Literacy and numeracy essential
Previous WMS experience
Analytical, problem solving, organisational and motivational skills
