In the Digitalization@GBS program we are working on a large-scale digital transformation program that aims at greatly improving Deutsche Post DHL GBS services focusing on both enriching customer experience and efficiency increases through Cognitive Process Automation.
With the help of state-of-the-art process automation technologies including RPA, Smart OCR, Machine & Deep Learning, we are endeavoring to redesign and automate repetitive manual processes in complex process chains, which constantly lead to unplanned throughput times, control problems or even incidents during the operational process. With a modern BPM solution, we are improving our digital customer experience that gives access to our broad service portfolio.

Automation Designer/RPA Developer (various seniority levels)

As a Automation Designer, you will be involved in automation projects and will work closely with process experts and automation process analysts to develop a process design that can be automated and carry out its technical implementation with the aid of tools for rule-based process automation, such as UiPath and Blue Prism and other technologies such as OCR, BPM and a few more. In the process, your creativity, meticulous approach, and teamwork will enable you to overcome challenges in the automation of complex processes and at the same time to take account of best practices. Ideally you will already be in possession of solid programming skills in any of the following programming languages: C#, VB.NET, SQL, VBA and/or Javascript.

Your main tasks:

  • Independently take on the technical implementation of process automations with UiPath or Blue Prism and the use of other digitization tools (Smart OCR, BPM, etc.)
  • Perform user acceptance test and deployment
  • Perform handover to business to enable RPA experts from the business to take over maintenance and continuous improvement
  • Perform code reviews
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within our process automation community
  • Perform status reporting in project or team meetings


Your profile should look like:

  • Degree in business informatics, applied informatics, or business management with a focus on accounting/controlling
  • Analytical skills and capacity for conceptual thinking, and the ability to think and act with a cross-organizational and cross-process approach
  • Relevant RPA and/or cognitive automation experience (UiPath Advanced Developer Certification or Blue Prism Professional Developer Accreditation)
  • Excellent understanding of processes and, ideally, practical experience in the area of business process management, including process documentation, analysis, and optimization (including knowledge of BPMN 2.0)
  • At least solid programming skills in one of the following: C#, VB.NET, SQL, VBA, and/or Javascript
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Ideally appropriate German language skills (we offer German lessons)
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products, particularly MS Excel / Visio
  • Desirable Knowledge of SAP FI, Abbyy FlexiCapture and initial experience in the management of projects with agile methods (Scrum)
