Insurance & Risk Management (IRM) department provides customised insurance and risk solutions and delivered an optimized claims handling service. We are supporting the significant growth forecast, whilst proactively pursuing economic, early resolution for customer claims.
We have newly created opportunity for an experienced Claims Specialist, to work in a new claims management team based in the Brussels area.
Your task will be:
Ensure claims are handled swiftly and efficiently by reviewing and deciding on the extent and validity of a claim
Manage high volume freight, marine cargo claims
Monitoring the progress of claim handling and meet agreed KPI’s.
Ensure customer claims are treated fairly and handled in accordance with international standards (CMR, Montreal etc.)
Provide customer claims reporting on claims activities and resolutions.
Build (co-operative) relationships with loss adjusters, Legal and other (external) Legal / claims professionals and between the GBS IRM team and stakeholders within the claims process.
Handle complaints, associated with a claim, in a professional manner.
Align with customer services to optimize the claims handling process, including the collection of information and documentation in order to handle the claim as efficiently as possible.
Identify process improvements and advise accordingly
Serve as an active member of IRM’s Benelux (and Mainland Europe) claims handling team, interacting and working with team members to ensure IRM business objectives are met
Proactively pursue economic, early resolution for customer claims, adopting a collaborative approach to addressing a wide variety of claims administration requirements, providing workable solutions to senior management.
Your profile should look like:
2 -5 years’ experience of operating an end-to-end claims handling process, dealing with freight & marine cargo claims
Degree in either Insurance, Finance, Legal or other closely related field
Possess strong knowledge of claims management challenges (small and large) within the supply chain / logistics industry
Experience in end-to-end claims handling process improvement
Previously gained experience of working within an international environment
Fluent in both written and spoken Dutch, English & French
