Main Accountabilities:

OFR

  • Drives implementation of Product strategy in country (translates requirements, implements, ensures realization of strategy and monitors).
  • Directs and controls Capacity Management activities for FCL and LCL at country level (management and allocation of capacity, adherence to global rates).
  • Sets, communicates and follows KPIs to ensure constant improvement of Capacity Management.
  • Creates, develops and maintains good relationships with service providers, while facilitating negotiations of best rates at country level.
  • Escalates carrier performance issues when required.
  • Directs and controls all pricing activities required at country level.
  • Supervises identification and implementation of new products within country.
  • Supports Sales in interaction with key customers.
  • Ensures efficient communication and information exchanges with Sales.
  • Provides input on solution design and service elements.
  • Ensures efficient communication and information exchanges with regional/global Product Management.

AFR

  • Sets and monitors objectives in terms of profitability maximization and volume growth (e.g. on ITM lanes).
  • Directs and controls activities performed to effectively manage end-to-end capacity for AFR (procure capacity, plan and control network).
  • Performs negotiation of key contracts with carriers.
  • Ensures optimization of network procurement and implementation of all consolidation opportunities.
  • Sets, communicates and follows KPIs to ensure constant improvement of capacity management.
  • Creates, develops and maintains good relationships with service providers, while facilitating negotiations of best rates at country level.
  • Escalates carrier performance issues when required.
  • Supports Sales in interaction with key customers.
  • Ensures efficient communication and information exchanges with Sales.
  • Provides input on solution design and service elements.
  • Ensures efficient communication and information exchanges with regional/global AFR Mgmt.
  • Sets and monitors objectives in terms of profitability maximization and volume growth (e.g. on ITM lanes).

CDZ

  • Ensure delivery of superior Customs Brokerage services to meet or exceed DHL operational standards and customer expectations.
  • Support Sales visits and customer presentations in order to win projects, and establish good rapport and maintain good/strong customer contacts.
  • Evaluate customer service requirements and maintain or exceed service expectations.
  • Responsible for  the cost-effective and efficient and management of  assigned operations.
  • Achieve or exceed projected targets.
  • Analyses costs and cost structure of operations on country unit level and derives improvement measurements and actions in consultation with manager and regional Product manager.

Stakeholders and Customers

  • Support country's efforts in maintaining healthy relationships with trade bodies and government agencies & authorities, including being an active subscriber or participant of global research agencies.
  • Creates, develops and maintains good relationships with customers and service providers, while facilitating negotiations of best rates at country level.
  • Maintain and support interdepartmental relationships.

Process Improvements

  • Responsible for constant improvement and optimization of production means (cost management) and operational and service level quality.

Process:

  • Develop and roll out financial and operational KPI reports. Follow up on specific country.

People Management:​​

  • Develop a high performance service culture within the country that nurtures and encourages service excellence, quality and a ‘can do’ mindset.
  • Plan, organise and direct an efficient and effective country management team.
  • Develop IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
  • Conduct performance appraisal, performance review, including coaching as well as evaluates performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct reports.
  • Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of Global objectives and targets.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department.
  • Trains and develops managers for succession.

Functional Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in many areas of AFR,OFR and CDZ  management.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the Air & Ocean Freight and Forwarding Industry.
  • Relevant experience in Sales, Business Development and Logistics.

Education / Qualification / Certification Requirements​​

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant topic

Language Requirements :

  • English  - excellent
